I have had a Rottweiler/Shepard mix for the last 2.9 years. (I got him when he was 12 weeks old). He has been a terrific friend and pet up until the past two weeks.
All of a sudden he has become very aggressive (without provocation) towards other animals.
In the last 2 weeks he has killed 7 animals and attempted an 8th. We have other dogs and cats and he has been around them his whole life - and until now, has never had a problem.
In addition, for the past 10 months, we have been remodeling our home and there have been many workers coming in and out of the yard.

My question is this . . . "What would make the seemingly perfect dog - turn aggressive?" He is up to date on his shots - but I can no longer trust him. Could someone have done something to him when we weren't home? Please advise asap as I am grief stricken with the loss of my trusted friend.
Thanking you in advance

This is a very complex thematic. I cannot give you advice here via internet.
But you are right:
"What would make the seemingly perfect dog - turn aggressive?"

You have to find the cause of his aggression.
Is it the stress wile remodeling the house? Or anything else in your environment?

If not, please check his health condition! About 80% of aggressions are caused by pain. This can be a painful tooth, a swallowed object, an injured paw, or anything else.

If all is ok physical, and the problem persists, please call a behaviorist near you. It is important to see the dog 'īn action'.

Thank you for your advice. We will check his health condition.

I didn't find a behaviorist yet.
